Starving Artistamps Cards

I made 2 cards tonight using my Starving Artistamps stamps. I didn't start out trying to make a "manly card" but I think this one would be great for a man. The matted piece on the left of the card is some homemade designer paper made by Tracey at Starving Artistamps. Isn't it gorgeous? I stamped the outline leaves on the tree then stamped the corresponding inside of the leaves with 2 different colors and I stamped outside of the outlines. I like the way it turned out. Used more of those new Dew Drops too.

Stamps: Tree (w/leaves) set of 7 (P14.08) - Starving Artistamps, Sentiment - Sun Spirit Studio sold by Starving Artistamps; Paper: Choc. Chip, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, White, Designer by Starving Artistamps; Ink: Choc. Chip, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, So Saffron; Accessories: Dew Drops, Wide Choc. Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Twine, Paper Piercer and Mat Pack.
I enjoyed coloring the grapes on this card with my new Copics. I have really been working on getting the blending of the colors right and I'm happy with how this one turned out. It's a bright and fun card.

Stamps: Grapes (P15.05), Sentiment (P15.06), Ornate Tooled Leather Background - all by Starving Artistamps; Paper: Wild Wasabi, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, White; Ink: Choc. Chip; Accessories: Copics, Wild Wasabi Ribbon, Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, Photo Corner Punch.

Happy Mother's Day

I made this first card for my Mother for Mother's Day using the sketch from Amy Westerman's Super Sunday Sketch from last Sunday. I really liked this sketch. It was pretty simple and straightforward and worked well for this stamp set.

I used Basic Grey paper to get the kind of look that is my Mother's taste. I think she will like this card as is looks "vintagy" (Is that a word? I thought not). I stamped the flower image twice, cut out the center and popped it up with a build-a-brad. I used some of my new Dew Drops too.

I made this second card for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day using Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #47 and this week's Color Challenge CC#165 from SplitCoast Stampers. I used the Pretty Amazing stamp set again. I haven't used it nearly as much as I've wanted too. I did the flower the same on both cards since I liked the way it looked so much. Don't these colors really look good together?

Open House - Saturday May 3, 2008

I had an Open House yesterday to start up my new Stamp Clubs that begin in June. I run my Stamp Clubs from June - March instead of taking the summer off like most demonstrators since I work in public accounting. It was so much fun to have my friends over again at my house to stamp. I missed you ladies. I also made some new friends that haven't stamped with me before. Thanks Dianne, Kim and Ann for coming and stamping with me. I am looking forward to many fun filled stamping days with you in the future.

These are 2 projects that we completed. This first card is an almost total CASE from Jackie Pedro's card here. I just fell in love with it when I saw it. It has a nice soft touch to it. Thanks Jackie for the inspiration. Your work is awesome.

I made this card using the Splitcoast Stampers Technique Lovers Challenge (TLC166). I got the idea for the paper and embellishments from Dawn Easton's card that you can see here. I love Dawn's clean crisp style. Thanks Dawn for the inspiration.

Workshop Card

Trying to make a simple card for people that haven't stamped before but I also wanted it to be a "WOW". I'm happy with the results.

I Love Frogs

I haven't played with this stamp set in over a year now. It was one of my favorites when it first came out. Now that springtime is here I thought it was the perfect time to ink it back up. I was so excited to be able to color it with the Copic's I have been accumulating over the past 2 or 3 months. Watercoloring is not one of my favorite things to do but the Copic's are so easy to color with. I just love them. I'm slowly accumulating some that match our Stampin' Up! colors very close.

I can't remember where I got the sentiment I put on the card but I think it's funny. A few times while working tax season this Spring I would have loved to take this frog's advice. LOL!! There were a couple of people that brought this sentiment to mind.

Have a great week and thanks for looking!!

Happy Birthday Chuck

I made this card for my husband Chuck. His birthday is tomorrow, the 23rd. He is the love of my life and God richly blessed me when he put him in my life. I couldn't ask for a better Dad for my son either. He thinks our son hung the moon which makes me love him even more. I love you Chuck!!!

I made this card in about 15 minutes. I think it is the quickest card I have ever made but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Masculine cards are hard for me. I have more thoughts in my head for "frilly" cards.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge - WSC44

Here is my entry for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I haven't gotten to play along in quite a while and this was a fun sketch to start back with. My stamping friends know that I love bright colors. I also wanted to use my new Flower Fusion felt flowers. I actually used a lot of things that I have had but haven't used yet. Felt Flowers, Rub-ons, and Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.

Thanks for looking and have a great week.

FINALLY - A Post From Me

Mark it down on your calendars ladies. April 15th is over and I'm back. I could not wait to make a card after working so many hours during tax season the past few weeks. I actually made this card the night of the 15th but haven't had the energy to post it until now. All my extra time since I have been off has been spent with one of the most precious things God has ever blessed me with, my 9-year old son Garrett. I missed him beyond words.

This card was inspired from Lauren Meader's (SCS name - mytime) sketch that you can see here.

I hope to be back to posting a card at least 2 or 3 times a week now so check back often. I've missed everyone and all your comments.
