Cutie Pie Vases in Vogue

Have I told you lately how much I love SU's designer paper? Oh, that's right, just about everyday. Here is my first card with the Cutie Pie designer paper. It's also the first time, in a long time, that I have used a background stamp. I actually used 2 on this card. The big saffron piece is stamped with "Weathered" and the pomegranate piece is stamped with "Paisley". I had forgotten how much I love background stamps. Thanks for looking!!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #16

I had a lot of fun making this card. Beate's sketch for this weekend was a great one to follow. This is the first time I have used my Level 3 hostess set Vases in Vogue. I love it!!! I cut out the vase and flowers and glued it on the Soft Sky cardstock. That was the hardest thing on this card. Not really hard, just time consuming. My husband also got my light box made to take pictures of my cards in. I think the quality of the picture is much better than what I have been doing in the past. If you would like to participate in Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge just check out her blog here. Stamps: Vases in Vogue, Big Flowers, Doodle Jumbo Wheel; Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Darling Doodles; Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Blue Bayou, Versamark, Black Stazon, Basic Black; Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Soft Sky Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8", 1-1/4" and 3/4" Circle Punches, Circle Rhinestone Brads, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen.

Fruit Stripe Zebra

For those of you that are old enough to remember the Fruite Stripe gum, this is what the zebra reminds me of. Do they still even make that gum?

I just got the new Darling Doodles designer paper in yesterday and I couldn't wait to use it. The colors are so pretty!!! The in-colors this year are so awesome. I'm sure as much as I'm using them I will be ready for some new colors come next July.

Apple Cider Designer Paper from Holiday Mini Catalog

This Apple Cider Designer Paper from the new SU Holiday Mini catalog is soooooooooooo pretty. But you know me, I just love all of SU's designer paper and love to use it on my cards. This is not a very good picture of the card because I didn't want to wait until daylight tomorrow to take a picture and put it on my blog. My friends that know me know that me and patience are not very good friends. This was a fun card to make. I'm proud of the way it turned out. Baby Jesus is Born

I got this set thinking I would do a lot of my cards with it this year before really thinking about it. I love the set but it needs a lot of watercoloring. That is very time consuming when you are mass producing cards. I came up with this alternative that I stamped on vellum with Stazon ink and put Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder on. That really makes the image pop. It's very glittery in real life. I also used brads to adhere it to the paper instead of using vellum glue. You can't use any kind of regular glue when adhering vellum or it will show through. The words Christmas Blessings were stamped with White Craft Ink and I used white embossing powder to make it stand out. Stamps: Baby Jesus is Born; Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive, White, Vellum; Ink: Black Stazon, White Craft; Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, Purely Pomegranate Ribbon.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #15

This is the first card I have made with my new set from the Holiday Mini. It's called Season of Joy. This was also the first stamp set I have gotten from SU that was die cut. Ladies, I hope they make all the sets like this in the new catalog that comes out in January. It took about 5 minutes to put together. It was awesome. I really like making cards for Beate Johns weekend sketches. She has some of the prettiest work I have seen. You can visit her blog at http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/. I stamped the tree with old olive stamp pad and then used markers to color in other items after I stamped it. I also roughed up the edges of the white around the tree with the Cutter Kit from SU. Stamps: Season of Joy, It's Your Birthday (snowflakes on the bottom of card); Paper: Old Olive, Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, White, Holiday Harmony Designer; Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black, Versamark; Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Purely Pomegranate Ribbon, Gold Elastic Cord, Markers in Rose Red, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa.

Garrett & Lily

Here is a picture of our new puppy Lily. She is a 7-week old beagle that has already won our hearts. She is the reason I went about a week with no postings. It's like having a child that just learned to crawl again. Everything goes in the mouth and she doesn't sleep through the night. We love her though, especially Garrett. He can't get enough of her. Our other beagle, Riley, came into his life when Garrett was only 2 so he doesn't remember him as a puppy. He likes that he can hold Lily in his hands. Riley is too big for him to hold.

Z-Fold Card

This is called a z-fold card. It was one of the challenges on SCS. It was very easy to make but I also think it turned elegant looking. I made it into a sympathy card. I love making cards with SU designer paper. It is such good quality paper and you don't realize how pretty it actually is until you see it in person. Stamps: Garden Whimsy, God's Blessings; Paper: Soft Sky, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, White, Fall Flowers Designer, Old Olive Designer; Ink: Certainly Celery, Basic Black; Accessories: SU Scallop Circle Punch, Marvy Uchida Giga Scallop Oval Punch, Coluzzle, White Gel Pen, Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Marker, Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Marker, Soft Blue (Non SU) Grosgrain Ribbon.

I'm Bright Again

Well, I got right back on the wagon for the bright colors. I like this much better than the moose I posted earlier today. I'm having lots of fun using the Flowers for You designer paper but I can't wait until I get the Cutie Pie designer paper in. I have seen so many great samples on SCS using that paper. The puppy is awake again so I need to finish this quickly before she chews the leg off my table. Bless her!!!!!!!! Stamps: Double-Line Doodles, In the Spotlight, Just for You, Whimsy Jumbo Wheel; Paper: Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery, Temp. Turquoise, Regal Rose, White, Flowers for You Designer; Ink: Lovely lilac, Temp. Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, ; Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, 3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Write Markers in Lovely Lilac, Temp. Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Summer Sun, Pretty in Pink.

Iridescent Moose

This is the first card I have made with this stamp set. It's a really cute set. I can't wait to use the porcupine. This looks like a fall card and I'm not sure I'm ready for it to be fall yet. I think I'll go back to the bright colors again. They are really my favorites. The moose is embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder on glossy paper. It's real sparkly in person. Stamps: Moose You, Hugs & Wishes, Fancy Flexible Phrases; Paper: Really Rust, Old Olive, Groovy Guava, Glossy White, Fall Flowers Designer; Ink: Choc. Chip, Versamark; Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Square Rhinestone Brads, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.

Colorful Whimsy

Well, it's been a week since I've posted anything. During that week we acquired a new beagle puppy. She is absolutely adorable. We named her Lily. She has kept me quite busy. It's almost midnight and she's asleep so I thought I would take advantage and get some stamping time in. This card was a lot of fun to make. SU has so many new accessories that I love to play with. The butterfly is actually popped up and is embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. It really pops in person. To all my clubbers, I have lots of pretty stuff to show you next week at Club. Stamps: Garden Whimsy, In the Spotlight, Big Celebrations, Whimsy Jumbo Wheel; Paper: Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, White, Soft Sky Designer; Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, VersaMark; Accessories: Circle Rhinestone Brads, Scallop Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Slit Punch, Wild Wasabi Ribbon, Paper Piercer, White Gel Pen.
