Stamping with "Lord Have Mercy"

I had soooooo much fun yesterday. Mercy Kerin from Lord Have Mercy, along with 2 other really wonderful and fun people (hi, Janet and Barb) came over to my house for a fun-filled day of stamping and fellowship. We laughed until I thought I couldn't laugh anymore. Mercy, Janet and Barb, thanks for coming and making my Saturday fun.

Now on to the card. I never bought this stamp set "Always", why I don't know. I used Mercy's yesterday and of course I fell if love with it. Don't you just hate it when you don't have a certain set, you use someone else's, and then you have to have it. By the way, Mercy, if you're reading this, you left it at my house yesterday. I promise I will love it a whole bunch before I get it back to you. Everyone else, look for more great posts using my Always, I mean Mercy's Always stamp set. LOL!!

The white heart was stamped with Tempting Turquoise Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The Taken With Teal heart was stamped with White Craft Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. It's really pretty in real life. I used the sentiment "Thank You" from the new Fresh Cuts stamp set because I thought it went well with the lacey feel of the hearts.

Hope you've had a great weekend. Thanks for looking.

CC172 SC182 Turtle Birthday

This is a double challenge card for me. I'm not used to doing that but I loved both challenges this week so I combined them.

The card base is 5" X 5". I took a 4-1/4" X 4-1/4" piece of Teal cardstock and stamped it in Whisper White craft ink then applied Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (it really sparkles IRL). I then cut it up into equal squares to make my small squares. I tried White Embossing Powder first but no matter how much I heat set it, the powder keep wiping off. Then I tried Clear Embossing Powder and it was not bold enough for my taste. I finally tried the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and was very happy with the results.

This was a really fun card to make. Thanks for looking!!

Retiring "Be Happy"

I'm trying to make a few cards with each of the retiring stamp sets I will be selling off. I haven't used this set, Be Happy, in quite a while and now I remember how much I liked it. On the stamp that says "Laugh Play Share", I stamped it once in Old Olive and once in Rose Red. I punched the little flowers out of the Rose Red piece and popped them on the Old Olive panel. I stamped and cut out the flower stamp and then put a Build-a-Brad in the center. I punched a piece of Old Olive Designer paper for the inside of the Build-a-Brad. Thanks for looking!!

Weekend Stamping #1

These colors from the Jersey Shore paper really look good together, don't they? This is one of the few times I like using Brilliant Blue and Only Orange. I have always stayed away from those two colors, just not my some of my favorites. I have made a few more cards using these colors that I will be posting shortly but I am ready now to move on to bigger and brighter things. Thanks for looking!!

Weekend Stamping #2

I thought I would make a few cards with some of my retiring sets before I get rid of them. I don't often make cards like this because I love brighter colors much better. I think this is a nice soft card for a wedding though and I'm very happy with it. I'm definitely going to miss this year's in colors, I use them all the time. I've really enjoyed them this year. Thanks for looking!!

Father's Day Card for My Dad

Here is the card I made for my Dad for Father's Day. At the time I made it I did not know the Weathered Background stamp was going to be retired. I'm going to miss this one because it's one of the few stamps I have that I think makes nice backgrounds for "manly" cards. This stamp set, For Father, is only available for through the end of this month. Hello to my Club ladies out there, here's one more chance to order this stamp set before it's gone. It can work for Birthday's, Anniversaries, Thinking of You, and lots of other occasions for the men in your life. Call me if you find you can't live without it. Thanks for looking!!

Yes, I've Seen Pink Monkeys - SC181

This card is for the SplitCoast sketch challenge for the week. I thought making these monkeys pink would be a cute idea. This was an easy sketch to work with and was perfect for this image. I just love these Changito Monkeys that you can get from Stampendous. I made a card a couple of weeks ago for Garrett's teacher that I still need to post using the Changito Monkeys. It's a Teacher's Set I got from Archivers in Atlanta on my trip home from FL. Thanks for checking me out and have a great weekend!!
