SC213 & CC203 Timeless Love

This card is for yesterday's SCS Color Challenge CC203 and today's SCS Sketch Challenge SC213. I wasn't too sure about these colors that Jessie picked out but as soon as I got them on the card I knew it was a winning combo. Great job Jessie.

I started out with a Garden Green card base. The background mat is white matted with Pacific Point and it has been pierced with SU's Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The stamp set is a retired set from My Favorite Things called Boho Blossoms. The heart was stamped with Pacific Point and cut out and adhered to the focal panel with dimensionals. The focal panel is cut out with Rectangle Nestabilities. The designer paper is from the Baja Breeze Designer Paper Pack. I stamped a small flower from the stamp set with White Craft Ink on some Garden Green Paper and embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I then punched them out to use with the three Build-a-Brads in the bottom right of the card. The sentiment was stamped with Brilliance Black ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. It is finished off with Pacific Point Grosgrain Ribbon.

Thanks for coming by to check me out. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

MTSC28 - Rockstar Anya

Here is my sample for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge MTSC28 for this week. Sorry for the late posting. My mother-in-law had surgery yesterday and has a recurrence of cancer in her abdomen. She will be undergoing another round of chemo after she is healed from the surgery. Please remember her in your prayers. Her name is Barbara Varnell. I believe that the Great Physician is in control and he is going to take care of her.

Now on to the card. Yes, I'm posting another Anya card. Don't you love this Rockstar image? I got this image in honor of my two nieces, Zoe (9) and Olivia (5), who both are rockstars in my book. They have not seen this card but it is one of many that will go to them for some occasion this year. The cardstock base is Cameo Coral. The background designer paper is from the Raspberry Tart pack and it has been matted with Real Red. Anya was stamped with Black Brilliance ink and embossed with clear embossing powder then colored with Copics. I have added Diamond Stickles to her headband and to the guitar. Anya is mounted with Rectangle Nestabilities. The background piece has been paper pierced with SU's Mat Pack and a Paper Piercer. The bling is SU's Fire Circle Rhinestones. The sentiment is stamped and punched out with SU's Medium Oval Punch. It's finished off with Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon.

Thanks for coming by to check me out today. Don't forget to stop by Mercy's blog and play along with her sketch. Her sketches just get better and better each week. Have a great week.

SC212 - Chef Ian

This is my submission for this week's SCS Sketch Challenge SC212. Isn't this just the cutest Ian image from The Greeting Farm? He's from the Happy Chef set. I hadn't had a chance to play with this set yet so I thought I would pull it out on this cold Sunday afternoon and see what I could come up with.

I'm not too sure about these colors but I went with them anyway. The designer paper is Kiwi Kiss and the purple color is Lavender Lace. I stamped Ian in Black Brilliance ink and embossed him with clear embossing powder. He was colored with Copics and cut out and put on top of the Circle Nestabilities mat with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped on Lavender Lace and cut out with the medium Oval Scallop Punch and the layered on top of a piece of Kiwi Kiss cut out with the Designer Label Punch.

I hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for coming by to check me out.

Dream a Little or dream a lot . . . . .

I made this card over a month ago and totally forgot to post it. This is the Hostess set Dream a Little that I borrowed from my precious friend Mercy of Lord Have Mercy! I have always been one of those people that didn't like too much white on my card but my how we change as our tastes change. The flowers were stamped in Real Red, Cameo Coral and Rose Red. I added some glitter with my Sakura Gel Pen to make them sparkly. The ribbon is some grosgrain that I got from The Ribbon Retreat that matches Kiwi Kiss perfectly. If you have never been to their website you need to check it out. They have the cheapest price on ribbon that I have been able to find. I matched up a lot of my SU colors with their ribbon for the 5/8" grosgrain that SU doesn't carry. Wished they had gotten more colors this catalog of the 5/8" grosgrain.

My mother-in-law will be having surgery on Monday for a lump she has in her abdomen. She had cancer in her abdomen 3 years ago. Help me pray that when they get in there they will find nothing but a fluid filled pocket and everything is fine. Love you Barb!!

Thanks for coming by to check me out this weekend. Hope your weekend is great.

MTSC27 - Dual Submission

This is my submission and my son Garrett's submission for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge MTSC27 for this week. Didn't Garrett do a wonderful job on his card? He used to stamp with me all the time when he was younger but now that he is 9 he rarely comes in to my stamp room except to talk to me. He has been sick since last Friday and didn't feel like doing much else besides stamping. How lucky for me!!

I pulled out the new set Love Owl-ways from Stampin' Up! that you can get starting today from the new Spring/Summer catalog. I cut the white oval with my Coluzzle but the Rose Red mat around it was cut by hand. The mailbox and owl were both stamped with Black Brilliance ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. After coloring them with my Copics I cut them out and adhered them with dimensionals. The designer paper under the focal image is from the Raspberry Tart designer pack from SU. The cardbase is Rose Red and the background piece is Pretty in Pink and it has been embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The focal image has been pierced using a Paper Piercer and SU's Mat Pack. The flower border is a Martha Stewart border punch. The sentiment is stamped with Black Brilliance ink and also embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the Word Window punch and attached a heart brad for "prettiness". I finished it off with Pink Grosgrain Ribbon.

Garrett's card has a Real Red cardbase. The other cardstock colors are Green Galore and Elegant Eggplant. He picked these colors out himself. He has his Mom's eye for bright colors. LOL! He colored the butterfly from the SU set Pretty Amazing with Only Orange and Pumpkin Pie SU Markers. He also pierced his focal image with a Paper Piercer and SU's Mat Pack. He added designer brads on the Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon. He cut out his white oval with the Coluzzle too.

Don't forget to stop by Mercy's blog and play along with the sketch. When uploading to a public gallery please make sure and use the keyword "MTSC27".

Thanks for coming by to check me, I mean us, out today. Hope you have a great week.

SFYTT - Bee-utiful Anya!!

Isn't this Anya just adorable? It's from the set Pretty Hat from The Greeting Farm. Yes, I am still in love with these precious Anya images.

I made this card for Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try for January 10, 2009. The designer paper is from the Georgia Peach designer pack from SU. I used some of the filigree designer brads, also from SU, with a circle rhinestone in the middle of them. Her necklace has liquid pearls to make it stand up and look like she's wearing real pearls. The flower on her hat and her eyeshadow are both sparkly from Diamond Stickles. The image is colored with Copics.

Thanks for coming by to check me out. Hope you have a great week.

MTSC26 - Bad Boy Ian

I don't know if you can really call him a bad boy but isn't he just the cutest thing? This is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge MTSC26. The stamp is from the new set Dress Me by The Greeting Farm. Ian was colored with Copic markers and I used Riding Hood Red as the cardbase and the designer paper is from the Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point designer packs. The clear button and the red button are both from Stampin' Up! and have been tied together with twine. Hope you enjoy looking at him. He's so precious.

Please make sure you stop by Mercy's blog and play along with her sketch this week. She has all the rules there. Thanks for stopping by to check me out. Have a great week.

TECC47 - Cutsie Butts Again

This card is for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #47 from 3 weeks. I made this card for my husband Chuck to give me for our 13th anniversary on December 21st. He usually gets in my stamp room and makes me a card for all different occasions during the year but I know he hates to do it. He is so precious to do this for me. I had just gotten these precious images from the set Cup of Stuff by The Greeting Farm and was dying to use them. I asked him if he wanted me to make him a card to give me and he was just all over that.

I stamped the main image with Black Brilliance ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder and I colored it with my Copics. The main image and the Real Red mat layer were cut out with Circle Nestabilities. The striped designer paper is from the Ski Slope pack as is the blue background piece. The blue background piece has been pierced with SU's Paper Piercer and Mat Pack. The sentiment is from SU's Hugs & Kisses set. The sentiment was also stamped with Black Brilliance ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The heart brads are from a local craft store. It's finished off with Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon.

Thanks for coming by to check me out. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

FS96 - Anna's Card

This card is for the Featured Stamper Challenge FS96 from 4 weeks ago. I chose this card from Anna's gallery to case. She had some beauties to choose from. I changed the stamp set, the cardbase color and added designer paper.

I used the butterfly from the Verve stamp set Thankful Blossoms . I stamped it on designer paper from the SU designer pack Hawaii Papaya with Rich Cocoa Momento ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder before cutting it out. The butterfly's wings have been slightly folded up to look like it's about to fly off the card. The brown scallop pieces are cut with the SU Scallop Border Punch. The sentiment is from the SU stamp set Always in My Thoughts. The white background piece has been pierced with SU's Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The ribbon is the retired Silk Chocolate Chip from SU.

Hope you're having a wonderful week. Thanks for coming by to check me out.

MTSC25 - Be My Valentine

This card is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge MTSC25. Don't you just love the sketch? Mercy has really been coming up with some awesome sketches lately!!

I used the Happy Heart Day stamp set from SU. I couldn't wait to pull it out again and use it for some Valentine's card. It's one of my favorite stamp sets. (Do I say that a lot or what? LOL) The elephant has been paper pieced with some gray paper from the Ghostly Greetings designer paper from SU. I painted his toenails white with the White Signo Gel Pen from SU. Instead of coloring the heart from the stamp on top of his trunk, I used a heart brad that I had. I colored the flowers with Copics and cut the scallop oval mat layer with the Slit Punch from SU. The lacy border is a Martha Stewart border punch I got this past Friday at Michaels. All the Martha Stewart crafts at Michaels were 30% off. Woohoo, I'm always up for a bargain. I pierced the main image piece and the top white piece on the card with SU's Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The ribbon is SU's Basic Gray Taffeta.

I hope you enjoy looking at the card as much as I had fun making it. To play along with Mercy's sketch check out her blog. Thanks for coming by to check me out.

MOJO67 - Embracing Flowers

This card is for this past Monday's MOJO Monday Sketch #67. I pulled out the SU set Embrace Life to use. I haven't used it in quite a while.

I used the Holiday Treasures designer paper from SU on all the card except for the flowers. They were stamped on the dotted paper from the Riding Hood Red designer pack, embossed with clear embossing powder and cut out. SU designer brads were put in the center of each flower. The sentiment is from the SU set Heard from the Heart and it was stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder also. The flower stems on the focal panel were colored with an Old Olive SU marker. The focal panel was pierced with SU's Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. It is matted with Chocolate Chip paper cut out with a Rectangle Nestabilitie. Chocolate Chip ribbon finished it off.

I will be going back to work tomorrow after being on vacation for a couple of weeks and starting tax season work. I will try to post as often as possible but it will be sporadic. Please be patient with me during this time.

Thanks for coming by to check me out. I hope you have a great week.

Stampin Up Card Finally - SC209 & WT199

This card is for this week's SplitCoast Stampers Weekly Sketch Challenge SC209 and for this week's SplitCoast Stampers Ways to Use it Challenge WT199, which was to use Silver anywhere on your card. I used the SU stamp set Always in My Thoughts. This is such a precious stamp set. I love all the sayings in it. Very good set when you need to make a card for someone that needs a pick me up.

I stamped the main image with Rich Cocoa Momento Ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder then colored it with Copics. It is layered with a Chocolate Chip piece punched out with the Long Rectangle Nestibilities. The designer paper is from the SU Hawaii Papaya designer pack. The cardstock base is Chocolate Chip and the background piece is Old Olive. The Old Olive piece has been pierced with SU's Paper Piercer and Mat Pack. I added 3 Silver Brads with a 1/2" Circle Punch of Chocolate Chip behind them. The sentiment is also embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.

I hope the rest of your weekend is great. Thanks for coming by to check me out.
