Glossy Fresh Cuts

I got home late Sunday afternoon from a 4 day camping trip with my boys. What a great time we had!!

I made this card during a stamping retreat about 3 weeks ago with 3 of my wonderful friends, Mercy Kerin of Lord Have Mercy, Janet, and Donna. We had so much fun during those 3 days.

The main focal image is glossy paper stamped in black ink and embossed with black embossing powder. I then took 3 sponge daubers and wiped the ink from the inkpad across the paper. The is one of the easiest and prettiest techniques there is. If you are going to try this technique it looks much better if you emboss the stamped image with black instead of just stamping it only (thanks Mercy!!). The sentiment image is stamped twice in black, once on Riding Hood Red paper and once on Kiwi Kiss paper. I then cut the center of the Kiwi piece out and popped it with dimensionals on top of the Red piece. Then I added one of the new designer brads to the top left corner for "cuteness". It's cute, isn't it???
Have a great week and thanks for checking me out!!

Holiday Treasure Beauty

I created this card with the new Holiday Treasures designer paper from the new catalog. I think you can use three fourths of the paper for other occasions besides Christmas. I created this card for someone very special in my life. She will get it very soon.

I used my Pretties Kit for the first time and I have had it for about a year. I put a hat pin in the center of the flowers. There are 4 flowers colored to different degrees with a sponge dauber and Red Riding Hood ink. Didn't they turn out pretty? The focal image is a square scalloped piece of chipboard. I glued designer paper on and then sanded the edges with one of SU's sanding blocks. I just love this card. Hope you like it.

Thanks for looking and have a great week.

WSC58 - Mr. Twigster

This card is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I didn't think it was ever going to come together. I love the sketch but I just couldn't make up my mind what to put with Mr. Twigster. He is from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog and then I finally remembered that I got the Petite Snowflakes too. Doesn't it look cute with a build-a-brad in the center? The designer paper is called Ski Slope which is also from the Holiday Mini. Customers can start ordering from the Catalog on October 1st.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great week.

WSC56 - Yes, I'm Late

I actually did this card during the weekend that Beate posted her weekend sketch but never got around to posting it. Oh well, better late than never.

I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but each layer of the main focal image is popped with dimensionals. I love popping those layers. This stamp set, A Flower for all Seasons, is one of my favorites right now. I used a square scallop Nestie to cut out the focal piece on white and then used 2 more plain square Nesties to do the 2 layers behind. The chocolate mat layer that is behind the green designer paper has been punched with the ticket corner punch but the green designer paper has not. I like the way this looks together, almost like a scallop corner punch. The designer paper is from the new paper Hawaii Papaya. I used the Level 1 hostess set, Best Yet, for the sentiment. Added some Kiwi Kiss ribbon and I' done.

I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a great weekend.

Soft Colors Oh My

I really like the way this card turned out. I have never liked Kraft cardstock until recently. It always reminded me of cardboard. Well all I can say is that flowery cardboard on the bottom of this card looks scrumptious, doesn't it? If you know me you know that I don't do soft colors so this card went against everything that is my norm. But sometimes things that we don't normally do can be a good thing.

I borrowed my friend's long rectangle Nesties for the mat on the focal image (thanks Donna). Everything is pretty much straight forward. Pretty plain and simple but I really like it. Thanks for looking and have a great week!!

Dreams of Blue Bellas

I made this card when I first got the new Dreams du Juor stamp set around the middle of July. I love the way the pink, blue and red look together on this card, don't you? The card is pretty self explanatory. You probably can't tell by the picture but I used the Paisley background stamp on the small piece that the ribbon goes around. I'm also loving the new In Color ribbon and am so glad they made it wider than last year's ribbons.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.

Sock Monkey, You're So Cute!!!

Hello. Here is a card I did over a month ago when I first got this Sock Monkey set. I really like this set even though I know there are a lot of people out there that hate it.

The two pictures after the Sock Monkey card are from my Alaskan vacation. What a beautiful place Alaska is. If you haven't been there it is something you must try to see.

Have a great week and thanks for looking!!!

Anyone Out There???

I just wanted to let everyone out there know that I am still alive. If you read the post before this one you know that I have had a few things going on in my life lately. I went on the Alaskan cruise during the middle of August and on the morning after I returned, I received a call that my dad was being taken to the ER. He had a stroke. He is doing very well and actually went back to work the next week. The Lord has been very good to him and has blessed him (and me) by giving him more time with his family here on this Earth. Thank you Lord!!

Me and my husband purchased a travel trailer about 8 weeks ago so every available weekend lately has been spent in the woods. It has really cut done on my stamping time but I wouldn't trade the time I have spent with my husband and son for anything in the world. We are having a great time.

I have stamped a few things during the last 4-6 weeks but haven't taken time to post anything. For that I am sorry. I have had several people "unsubscribe" from my blog for not having current updates and for that I am sorry. Sometimes our free time gets taken up by things that are far more important than stamping. THANK YOU to the people that have continually checked my blog for current updates and to the people that have checked on me by email. Your kindness means a lot.

I will try to post some cards this week. Take care and have a great week.
